On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at about 11:28 A.M., Turlock Police Department received a call from a citizen advising of a male subject who appeared deceased in the 100 block of Almond. Patrol Officers responded to the scene and located a deceased adult male. Turlock Police Detectives responded to the scene to investigate this suspicious death. Through their investigation, it was determined that the victim, 50 year old Daniel Russell, was shot at least one time and was the victim of a homicide.

Based on witness interviews and evidence located at the scene, it is believed that the victim was killed several hours earlier while inside the trailer he was residing in. This does not appear to be a random act of violence nor is it gang related. Detectives believe that the victim and suspect(s) may have known each other.

Turlock Police Detectives are asking that anyone who may have been in the 100 block of Almond during the night of June 18, or early morning hours of June 19, contact them with any information which they may have regarding this incident.
