San Leandro Police detectives continue to investigate an altercation between four men that led to a stabbing in the Downtown San Leandro Washington Plaza. The incident occurred just after 11 pm last night that left one man dead and another in critical condition at a local hospital.

San Leandro Police detectives are looking for two men who fled the scene after the incident. These two men are being considered "persons of interest" and are wanted for questioning. Detectives were able to locate some video surveillance from the area and spoke to several witnesses who gave some accounts of the incident.

"We have no information as to what led to this altercation," said Lieutenant Isaac Benabou. "Whatever the reason, nothing justifies taking another life. We send our deepest condolences to the victims' families for this senseless crime." Investigators have been working on the case continuously since last night and are confident that these individuals will be located.
