Fugitive Captured After Escaping from Hospital 
A man suspected of crashing into a Harris County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle while drunk last week was captured Monday without incident by the sheriff’s Warrants Division.
Ricky Rangel (DOB 2/23/63, SPN 01282510) was found inside a home in the 900 block of East 38th Street in Houston at 11:45 a.m.
On Wednesday, June 13, Rangel was driving a vehicle that struck a Sheriff’s Office patrol unit and other vehicles at Tomball Parkway and Cypresswood Drive.
The driver showed signs of impairment and was transported to Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands by ambulance. While receiving treatment, Rangel managed to escape the hospital on foot.
Rangel is now charged with felony third DWI and felony escape.
