Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Friday, 6/15/18, through Sunday, 6/17/18.

Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 6/15/18, through Sunday, 6/17/18.

6/15/18

-500 blk FM 1294, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the area after receiving a complaint about an unknown disturbance. Deputies met with residents and no disturbance had occurred. No offenses were observed or reported.

-FM 300 at Kelly Rd, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy responded to a report of a cow stuck in a fence. The animal was able to free itself when the deputy arrived. There were no signs of injury and the animals had access to food and water.

-500 blk Tim, Levelland: Traffic Complaint. A deputy responded to a complaint of a juvenile riding an ATV through the area. The area was checked and no one was located.

-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Reckless Driver. A deputy was notified of a possible reckless driver on the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle described was not located.

-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke: Disturbance. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a possible domestic disturbance. All parties were contacted and advised the disturbance had been verbal only, and no offenses were reported. Parties were separated.

-6800 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Domestic Disturbance. A deputy responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. All parties were on scene and reported the incident was verbal and was over property. No offenses were reported and all parties were separated.

6/16/18

-300 blk Edwards, Anton: Suspicious Person. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a complaint of an individual walking behind the residence. The area was checked and no one was located. No offenses were reported.

-2600 blk Robert Lee, Levelland: Theft. A deputy met with a complainant regarding a theft report. When the deputy arrived, he was informed the property had been returned. No report was requested by the complainant.

-Hwy 114 at Hwy 385, Levelland: Motorist Assist. A deputy stopped to check status on a motorist in the area. Another individual was en route to provide assistance. The roadway was clear and no further assistance was needed.

-200 blk Cleveland, Smyer: Domestic Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the area regarding a reported disturbance. All parties were still on scene and reported the incident was only verbal, and was an argument over property. No offenses were observed or reported, and the incident was handled by separation.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy observed a vehicle parked on the right of way and appeared to be abandoned. The vehicle was tagged to be towed after 72 hours if not removed.

-1300 blk S. Texas, Sundown: Domestic Disturbance. Deputies responded to a residence related to a reported disturbance. The complainant advised an individual caused property damage when banging on the wall. The suspected party left the scene and a report was taken related to the Criminal Mischief offense.

-Justin Rd at Blackgold Rd, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy was notified an individual had been involved in a vehicle crash in the area. The deputy contacted the individual and there was an apparent injury to the leg. The individual refused medical attention and information was collected. It was later learned the same individual was suspected of causing property damage to a residence in Sundown.

6/17/18

-900 blk S. Wilma, Sundown: Assist EMS. A deputy was dispatched to the area to assist with a call for medical attention. On arrival it was learned the deputy was not needed and cleared the scene.

-N. Barton Ln at Hwy 114, Opdyke: Suicidal Subject. A deputy was notified of a possible threat of suicide in the area. The area was checked and the individual was not located. Deputies were in communication with family and the individual was reported to be en route to several residences. The residences were checked and it was determined the individual was in Brownfield. Terry County SO and Brownfield PD were notified to attempt to locate the individual.

-Ellis at Avenue K, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy stopped to check on a vehicle and located an individual sleeping in the bed of the truck. Information was collected and was noted. No offenses were observed or reported.

-Hwy 114 at Veretto Rd, Levelland: Assist PD. A deputy stopped to assist on a traffic contact made by Levelland PD in the area. The deputy remained to assist as needed.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 0800 hours on 6/18/18: 45 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, 30 out of county.
