Power Outage Update 
A motor vehicle accident which occurred overnight in the area of Whitehead Avenue and Charter Drive has taken down a pole, transformer and wires.
This is the cause of the power outage that portions of South River are experiencing. South River Electric Utility is on location working on repairs and restoration. Full power restoration is estimated to take an additional 6 to 8 hours.
Residents are reminded to check on elderly relatives and neighbors as well as those with health problems. Report any emergencies by dialing 9-1-1. For non-emergencies, please call 732-238-1000.
While repairs are taking place, Whitehead Avenue in the area of Charter Drive is subject to closure and/or detours. Motorists should seek another route, if possible.
