Sunnyvale, CA. - On 06/16/18 at approximately 5:15 a.m. Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety police and fire personnel responded to the report of a man down in the roadway on El Camino Real between Henderson Ave. and Poplar Ave. Officers found an unidentified adult male pedestrian lying in the number one lane of westbound El Camino Real. Life-saving medical efforts were started, but the pedestrian did not survive. A vehicle travelling westbound on El Camino Real had struck the pedestrian. The 67 year-old female driver suffered minor injuries from the collision. She is cooperating with investigators. The identity of the pedestrian is pending with the Medical Examiner. The Sunnyvale DPS Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the accident.
