Today, Officers from around the State were honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) at an award breakfast on the campus of Rutgers University. These Officers were the leaders in DWI enforcement within the State of New Jersey for the previous year. We were honored to have six Officers receive awards and recognition for the significant enforcement actions that they had taken. During the breakfast, Officers and guests heard from several guest speakers, including one North Brunswick's own, Middlesex County Freeholder Shanti Narra, Mrs. Colleen Sheehey-Church, the MADD National President, and Mr. Steven Benvenisti of the MADD National Board and author of "Spring Break: A True Story of Hope and Determination".
The present mission statement of MADD is to: End drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking. We are proud to have been, and continue to be a part of, this highly important mission. Thank you to all for the recognition and support!
