Deputies arrest Alex Richard Reyes for felony spousal abuse and false imprisonment

SUSPECT(S): Alex Richard Reyes, age 28 a resident of Highland
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, June 9th, Deputy C. Lopez from the Highland Police Department was assigned to investigate the report of a physical assault against the victim. During the investigation, it was determined the suspect, Alex Richard Reyes, punched and kicked the victim multiple times, while at their residence. The suspect would not allow the victim to leave their residence and held the victim there overnight. The victim sustained multiple contusions, abrasions and bruising from the attack.
The victim escaped and contacted deputies several hours later after the suspect fell asleep. Deputies responded to the residence and arrested the suspect as he tried to flee on foot from the location. He was arrested without incident and booked at the Central Detention Center.
The suspect will face charges of Felony Spousal Abuse and False Imprisonment. His bail is set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 12, 2018.
