Skeletal Remains Located at a Residential Construction Site
On Friday, June 8th, 2018, at about 12:30 p.m., San Mateo Police officers responded to the 900 block of 10th Avenue on a report of skeletal remains being found at a residential construction site. Officers arrived and learned that a construction crew was on site digging, when they unearthed what appeared to be skeletal remains and immediately called San Mateo Police.
To err on the side of caution, our detectives also responded to the location to assist with the investigation. The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office was contacted, responded to the scene, and recovered the remains. The remains will be examined by the San Mateo County Coroner’s pathologist to determine the species and if possible the cause of death.
