INCIDENT: Search Warrant /Assault with a Deadly Weapon

LOCATION: 7000 Block of Elmwood Road, Highland

SUSPECT(S): Peter Kelly Flores, age 43 a resident of Highland

VICTIM(S): Confidential - 3 pedestrians


SUMMARY: Highland City Detectives have been investigating a rash of air rifle shootings in the City as well as in surrounding jurisdictions that occurred in April and May of this year. In Highland, 3 pedestrians were shot with projectiles believed to have been shot by an air gun. Acting on evidence gathered during these separate investigations, detectives were lead to Peter Flores’ residence located in the 7000 block of Elmwood.
Highland Detectives served a search warrant this morning at the location and recovered an air rifle and some projectiles. Flores was present during the search warrant service and was later arrested.

Detectives from the city of Redlands Police Department were invited to participate in the investigation because Flores is suspected of committing an attempted homicide in their City. Last month a pedestrian was nearly killed after he was shot by a pellet gun.

Highland Deputies booked Flores into the West Valley Detention Center for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and his bail is set at $50,000.

Officers from the Redlands Police Department subsequently booked Flores for attempt murder with a bail amount of $1,000,000.

The investigation is ongoing, and investigators believe there may be additional victims or witnesses who have not come forward.
