Suisun Resident Linked To Vehicle Burglary

On May 18th one of our Community Service officers was contacted in the 1600 block of Gateway Bl.  The victim reported that his vehicle had been burglarized while he was shopping.  CSO Selby noticed that a nearby business had security cameras on the outside of the building.  He contacted the loss prevention officers at that location and obtained permission to view their surveillance footage.  While viewing the footage CSO Selby was able to obtain a description of the suspect responsible for breaking into the vehicle as well as a license plate for the vehicle that the suspect was associated with.

Detectives in the Investigations Bureau used this information to develop possible names and a location for suspects in this incident.  A search warrant was obtained for an apartment in the 200 block of Railroad Av in Suisun.  The warrant was served on Thursday, May 31st.  During the search of the apartment and associated vehicle, evidence was located linking the residents to the vehicle burglary as well as other thefts.  Taysha Barksdale, a 25-year old Suisun resident, was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools.

Without the partnerships we have developed with local businesses our officers would not have had the information necessary to fully investigate this theft.  We would like to thank the Sportsmans Warehouse for providing our officers access to their video surveillance footage even though their customers were not affected by this crime.  Those cameras proved to be an integral part of this investigation.
