Flood Warning until 08:00PM

...The Flood Warning continues for the French Broad River in North Carolina... at Blantyre affecting Henderson and Transylvania Counties. The heavy rainfall threat across the upper French Broad River valley has ended and significant runoff across the valley has waned. River levels have receded below Minor Flood Stage but remain above Action Stage which means scattered nuisance flooding of low-lying areas continues. The French Broad River should fall below Action Stage, and flooding should end, Monday night. Therefore, the Flood Warning will continue until flooding has abated. This prevents the issuance of a new Flood Advisory, which typically signifies the beginning of a new flood event. Additional widespread or basin-average heavy rainfall is not expected through at least Thursday. The Flood Warning continues for The French Broad River At Blantyre.

* Action Stage is 15.0 feet.

* Action Stage flooding is defined as nuisance flooding, generally less than 12-18 inches deep, of low-lying areas next to streams including farmland, recreational areas, greenways, and boat access ramps. Caution is advised anywhere near such areas.

* Forecast...The French Broad River at Blantyre will continue to recede and will be below 15.0 feet by Monday night. The Flood Warning will be allowed to expire at that time.

* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Action Stage. Most farm fields are flooding between the French Broad River and Brevard Rd. and between the French Broad River and Pleasant Grove Rd. &&
