Flood Warning until 08:00AM Wednesday

...The Flood Warning continues for the French Broad River in North Carolina... at Blantyre affecting Henderson and Transylvania Counties. The heavy rainfall threat across the upper French Broad River Valley has ended, the floodwave has crested, and floodwaters continue to recede gradually. However, scattered to widespread Minor flooding will persist into early Tuesday and Action Stage or Advisory-level flooding will persist into Wednesday. Therefore, the Flood Warning will continue into Wednesday to highlight ongoing, but improving flood conditions across the valley. Additional widespread or basin-average heavy rainfall is not expected through at least Thursday. ...Flood Warning extended until Wednesday morning... The Flood Warning continues for The French Broad River At Blantyre.

* At 10:31 AM Sunday the stage was 17.1 feet and falling slowly.

* Minor Flood Stage is 16.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.

* Minor flooding is defined as flooding of low-lying areas next to streams including farmland, recreational areas, greenways, and boat access ramps. Floodwaters in these areas may be from 18 inches up to 6 feet deep. A few secondary roads may be impacted as well. Caution is advised anywhere near such areas. Drivers are asked to heed all barricades to avoid getting stuck or swept away by fast-moving flood waters.

* Forecast...the river will continue to fall to below Minor Flood Stage by early Tuesday morning and fall below Action Stage by Wednesday afternoon.

* Impact...At 17.0 feet...Minor Flooding continues. Floodwaters continue to inundate farmland between the French Broad River and the railroad tracks. Floodwaters may start to inundate the shoulders of River Road near the Big Willow Road intersection. Floodwaters continue to impact boat access areas at Grove Bridge Rd. and Crab Creek Rd. &&
