Ten to 15 consecutive hours of single digit humidities are forecast this afternoon and evening over western and central New Mexico. Mostly poor humidity recoveries are expected tonight. Dry, windy and unstable conditions will return Friday with widespread critical fire weather conditions expected. ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM MDT FRIDAY... * AREA AND TIMING...All of northern and central New Mexico this afternoon through this evening. All of northern and central New Mexico, except the Northwest Plateau, from late Friday morning through Friday evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts near 40 mph this afternoon through this evening. Southwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts near 45 mph late Friday morning through Friday evening.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...4 to 10 percent this afternoon and evening and again Friday morning through Friday evening.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
