Shooting Suspect Captured

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Unit have arrested 23-year-old James Johnson, who was wanted for shooting a 42-year-old grandmother of four.

That charge has now been upgraded to murder, after the victim died of her injuries shortly after the incident on Thursday, May 31, 2018.

Investigators say that Johnson (dob 05/13/95) shot at the complainants car as she drove away from the La Esencia Apartment complex with her 22-year-old daughter and 4 grandchildren in the vehicle.

Precinct 4 Constables were called earlier around 8:30 pm, after Johnson had been in an argument with the 22-year-old woman and her brother.

Witnesses said that Johnson pulled a pistol and pointed it at her.

Precinct 4 Constables were in the process of filing an aggravated assault charge on Johnson, when the second call for service was dispatched at 12:09 a.m.

The female was transported from the scene to Houston Northwest Hospital in critical condition. The daughter and grandchildren did not sustain any injuries during the incident.

The Texas Department of Public Safety CID investigators received information on the whereabouts of Johnson in Montgomery County, Texas.
On Wednesday , June 6, 2018 members of the DPS and HCSO Violent Crimes unit found Johnson at a residence, and took him into custody with out incident.
