Tip leads to arrests for drugs, child endangerment and stolen mail

In the early evening on Thursday ( 5/24/2018), a local business reported 2 suspicious people, who appeared to be using drugs in a parking lot in the 2400 block of Iron Point Drive in Folsom.  Officers arrived to find Jacob Timberlake, 23, of Folsom, and Jennifer Lacasse, 39, of Sacramento, along with Lacasse’s 5 year old child, in a parked vehicle.  Officers found what they suspected was heroin, and paraphernalia used to smoke heroin, in the vehicle.  Both adults appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

Officers searched the vehicle and found US mail that had been reported stolen from Folsom earlier in the week. Officers believe the mail was from more than one theft of mail in Folsom. Officers also found mail addressed to residents in other cities, and they are working with allied agencies to notify those victims.  Officers also found a checkbook they believe was stolen, one of which had been written but not yet cashed.

Timberlake was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of the personal identifying information of more than 10 people, unlawfully acquiring credit cards, possession of drugs and paraphernalia, being under the influence of a drug, and violating his probation.

Lacasse was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of the personal identifying information of more than 10 people, unlawfully acquiring credit cards, forgery, possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a drug and child endangerment.

Both subjects were booked into the Sacramento County Jail.  Booking photos are attached.

These arrests likely would not have been possible without the help from the person who called in to share what she had seen. We are grateful to our amazing residents who partner with us to report suspicious situations and help us stop crime!
