Conditions will be favorable for potentially heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding through Saturday evening. ...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING... The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southeast Louisiana and Mississippi, including the following areas, in southeast Louisiana, Ascension, Assumption, East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Livingston, Lower Jefferson, Lower Lafourche, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Lower Terrebonne, Orleans, Southern Tangipahoa, St. Charles, St. James, St. John The Baptist, St. Tammany, Upper Jefferson, Upper Lafourche, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Upper Terrebonne, and West Baton Rouge. In Mississippi, Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson.

* through Saturday evening

* Widespread 2 to 4 inches of rainfall likely in swaths along lake and sea breeze boundaries. Some locally higher amounts to 6 inches possible. Rain rates 2 to 3 inches per hour at times.

* POTENTIAL IMPACTS OF FLOODING include flooding of streets and low lying areas. Increased water levels on area rivers and streams. High rain rates may briefly overwhelm pumping capacities until rates diminish.
