On Saturday, May 19, 2018, at approximately 7:37 PM, Turlock Police Department received a report that a teenager had possibly been shot in the 500 block of Vermont. Officers responded to find a male juvenile outside a residence who had been shot at least once with an undisclosed caliber firearm. Officers performed CPR on the victim until medics arrived and continued to provide medical aid for the victim.

Officers secured the scene until Turlock Police Detectives arrived to take over the investigation. The investigation revealed that the victim was a 16-year old male who lived nearby. Detectives secured a search warrant for a residence and interviewed several witnesses. This is still an active investigation. Additional details will be released as they are developed and confirmed.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
