Ashland PD Selection Process for the Position of Senior Support Services Officer/IBR Coordinator

The Ashland Police Department is conducting a selection process to develop a pool of qualified candidates for future vacancies for the position of: Senior Support Services Officer/IBR Coordinator

The Ashland Police Department is seeking qualified individuals to fill a full-time, civilian position of Senior Support Services Officer/IBR Coordinator. Primary duties will include coordination of the agency’s Incident Based Reporting (IBR) system, ensuring compliance with all VCIN regulations and CJIS security requirements, maintaining records within all Library of Virginia local records regulations, serving as the primary evidence custodian and providing excellent service by phone, digital communication and in-person to a wide variety of stakeholders. The selected candidate will be someone who has successfully held similar positions while showing fairness as well as patience, humility, and a sense of humor while dealing with internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a public safety dispatch or records environment; be familiar with regulation governing law enforcement records to include VCIN level A operator, CJIS, IBR, Library of Virginia and FOIA; will have experience in a dynamic workplace that is transitioning to a paperless environment and can embrace using new technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the agency. Preferred candidates will also have experience in evidence management or inventory control.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, 1-2 years experience in a clerical or communications position; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be 18 years old. Background check, driving record check, and pre-employment drug screening required.

This is a full-time position with excellent fringe benefits with an anticipated starting salary between $32,566-38,000. General working hours are M-F, 8:00am to 4:30pm with occasional nights and weekends as required. Qualified candidates can apply at http://www.town.ashland.va.us/304/Employment.
