...Forecast flooding increased from Minor to Moderate severity...The
Flood Warning continues for
The Opequon Creek near Martinsburg.
* Until further notice.
* At 6 AM Thursday the stage was 11.3 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Recent activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at
6 AM Thursday was 11.3 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 14.7 feet by
early Saturday morning. Additional rises may be possible
thereafter.
* Impact...At 15.0 feet...Water reaches homes on Douglas Grove Road,
and may be near a home on Abbie Lane. Hundreds of acres of fields
are flooded near the creek. Blairton Road begins to flood, and
numerous other roads are already flooded and closed.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 15.2 feet
on May 17 2014.
