...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM EDT THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING... The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of central West Virginia, northeast West Virginia, northern West Virginia, southeast West Virginia, and southern West Virginia, including the following areas, in central West Virginia, Braxton and Taylor. In northeast West Virginia, Northwest Pocahontas, Northwest Randolph, Northwest Webster, Southeast Pocahontas, Southeast Randolph, and Southeast Webster. In northern West Virginia, Barbour, Harrison, Lewis, and Upshur. In southeast West Virginia, Northwest Fayette, Northwest Nicholas, Northwest Raleigh, Southeast Fayette, Southeast Nicholas, and Southeast Raleigh. In southern West Virginia, McDowell and Wyoming.

* From 2 AM EDT Thursday through Friday evening

* Periods of rain will continue across the area through Friday. Some of this rain could be heavy at times. Overall rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible. This rain coupled with the wet soils across the area could cause flooding of small streams and creeks, low spots and poor drainage areas.

* Possible impacts are flooded roads and mudslides.
