Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Saturday, 5/12/18, through Monday, 5/14/18.

Good Tuesday afternoon from the Texas Jail Association Conference! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Saturday, 5/12/18, through Monday, May 14, 2018.

5/12/18

-FM 303 at Pettit Gin, Pettit: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a report of loose livestock. The owners were located and secured the animals before the deputy arrived.

-Hwy 114 at Veretto Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a female walking along the highway in the area. The area was checked and no one was located.

-500 blk Tim, Levelland: Noise Complaint. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a loud music complaint. The residence was located and the music was turned off for the night after speaking with deputies.

-Sagebrush Rd near FM 303, Sundown: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a vehicle stopped in the area. The area was checked and it was determined the vehicle left prior to arrival of deputies.

5/13/18

-400 blk 12th St, Levelland: Warrant Service. Deputies contacted an individual at a residence related to active felony warrants. The individual was arrested and transported to the Detention Center without incident.

-200 blk W. 5th St, Anton: 911 Hang-Up. A deputy was dispatched to a 911 hang-up call at a residence in the area. No one was contacted, and the residence was found to be secured.

-Hwy 114 near FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy responded to a report of a possible road rage incident on Hwy 114. There were two calls received, one from each of the drivers involved. One of the individuals was contacted, and the second vehicle reportedly continued into Lubbock County before deputies arrived. It was reported that the second driver had been driving close to the other vehicle.

-800 blk Veretto Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to check the area after a complainant reported suspicious noises. The area was checked and no one was located.

-McKinley near Avenue Q, Levelland: Civil Issue. A deputy was dispatched to the area of City Park regarding a civil matter over eviction. Civil remedies were advised to the complainant, and information about the eviction process was relayed.

-FM 303 and Pettit Gin, Pettit: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to a report of loose cattle in the area. The cattle were secured and the owners were notified.

5/14/18

-6900 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Person. A deputy was dispatched to the area after receiving a call about an individual in the ditch. The individual was contacted and EMS was contacted. The individual was not injured and not under the influence of any intoxicants. He was released to another adult who transported him from the area.

-3100 blk Black Gold Rd, Levelland: Animal Complaint. A deputy responded to a complaint of an aggressive dog loose in the area. The dog was located and was taken by Levelland Animal Control due to the physical condition.

-FM 168 at Delaware Rd, Smyer: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to locate a vehicle driving on private property in the area. The vehicle was located and the driver was identified. No offenses were reported and the driver left the area.

-6500 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: 911 Hang-Up. A deputy responded to a reported 911 hang-up call in the area. The area was checked and the caller was not located. There were no residences in the area of the call, and no other calls were received.

-6100 blk Maine Rd, Anton: Welfare Check. A deputy spoke with a complainant regarding a request to check welfare on another individual who moved out of the house. The other party was contacted and spoke with deputies. Information was relayed back to the complainant. No offenses were observed or reported.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Civil Issue. A deputy spoke with a complainant regarding an eviction process. Civil remedies were advised to the individual and referred to the appropriate court.

-6300 blk Cactus, Levelland: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to the area to check welfare of an individual in a vehicle along the roadway. The individual was located and EMS was contacted when deputies believed there was a medical issue. The individual was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, civil process service, and investigative follow-up activities.
