The Burlington Township Police Department has an important message for the community!

It is that time of year again when the scammers portraying to be from the IRS make phone calls. These scammers will use advise you that you owe the IRS money and will use the threat of arresting you in order to gain your cooperation. They will instruct you pay your debt by using GIFT CARDS from local merchants, i.e. Target. The real IRS does not accept gift cards as a method of payment. If you receive one of these phone calls ignore the threats and contact the police.
