INTOXICATED SUBJECTS VANDALIZE DOWNTOWN BUSINESSES
Incident: Intoxication leads to felony vandalism to downtown businesses

Incident # 1: May 12th, 2018 at 1:45am
Location: Copperfield Books, Downtown Petaluma
Suspect(s): Malcom Jackson, 25 year old Richmond resident
On May 12th, 2018 the Petaluma Police Department received an emergency call for service reporting a large fight downtown fronting the Roaring Donkey at 1:45am. According to the reporting party, several people were actively fighting in the street. As officers arrived in the area, the fight dispersed and individuals fled the area. Shortly after the fight, Malcom Jackson was upset and punched the front plate glass window to Copperfield Bookstore. The window shattered resulting in a large laceration to Jackson’s forearm and felony vandalism. Jackson was arrested for the vandalism and booked at the Sonoma County Jail.

Incident # 2: May 13th, 2018 at 12:15am
Location: Tall Toad Music Store, Downtown Petaluma
Suspect(s): Michael Prunty, 28 year old Petaluma resident
On May 13th, 2018 the Petaluma Police Department received an emergency call for service reporting a large fight downtown fronting the Andresen’s Bar at 12:15am. Again the reporting party stated several people were actively fighting in the street. The fight dispersed prior to officers’ arrival; however, Michael Prunty initiated a second altercation fronting the Tall Toad Music Store. Prunty assaulted a subject uninvolved in the initial altercation by pushing the subject off of his scooter into the front window to the business. Prunty fled from officers and was located a short distance from the incident hiding in the bed of a pickup truck. Prunty was arrested for felony vandalism and resisting arrest. Prunty was booked at the Sonoma County Jail.
Both of these incidents were attributed to intoxication and the Petaluma Police Department asks that you please drink responsibly.
