...RED FLAG WARNING TODAY FROM 10 AM TO 9 PM AREAWIDE DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE... ...RED FLAG WARNING SATURDAY FROM LATE MORNING THROUGH EARLY EVENING AREAWIDE DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH SUNDAY FROM LATE MORNING THROUGH EARLY EVENING ALONG AND EAST OF THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE... .An extended period of critical fire weather conditions will continue today through at least Sunday as a broad low pressure system stalled over the Great Basin strengthens winds over New Mexico. A surface trough in the lee of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and strong atmospheric mixing will also enhance wind speeds. Minimum humidities will plummet into the single digits each afternoon, and there will be some locally poor overnight humidity recoveries. Further, an unstable atmosphere is expected as high temperatures climb well above normal and Haines Indices reach 6 in many locations. ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 9 PM MDT SATURDAY... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING... The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from 11 AM to 9 PM MDT Saturday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch is in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AREA AND TIMING...Along and east of the central mountain chain from late morning through early evening today through Sunday.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. The strongest winds will occur north of I-40 each day.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Ranging from 6 to 12 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* AFFECTED AREAS: EAST CENTRAL PLAINS ... NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS ... NORTHEAST PLAINS ... SANDIA MANZANO AND GALLINAS MOUNTAINS
