Larceny from Vehicle
Dearborn, Mi. — Over the past week, the City of Dearborn has seen an increase in larcenies of catalytic converters taken from motor vehicles. On April 30, 2018, Dearborn officers pursued a late model Kia Optima, burgundy in color, occupied by 3 black males following another larceny. This pursuit was subsequently terminated due to the danger it posed to the public. Several neighboring communities have also been targeted by these same suspects utilizing the same Kia.
The Dearborn Police are asking that anyone with information regarding these crimes please call the Dearborn Police Department at 313-943-2241 or if you wish to remain anonymous you can call HEAT (Help Eliminate Auto Theft) at 1-800-242-HEAT.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “These crimes have an adverse impact on the quality of life of our residents and will not be tolerated. We will work closely with our regional partners to apprehend these suspects.”
