(Etowah County, Alabama) A Rainbow City man has been arrested in connection to theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Matthew James White, 35, of Rainbow City, is charged with one count of first degree theft of property and one count of third degree receiving stolen property, both are felonies,” investigator Will Farley said.

White allegedly took two utility trailers, with permission, from a residence in Whorton Bend and never returned them. He later told investigators that he pawned both trailers. The trailers have not been recovered.

The suspect was also found to be in possession of a third stolen utility trailer taken from property located on Church Circle, in the Ball Play community. The trailer was located and returned to the rightful owner.

White is currently being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center.
