April 23rd thru April 30th

April 23rd:

Vehicle Theft- Devonshire Court:
At 1130 hours, an officer recovered a Ford F350 pickup truck which was reported stolen to the Albany Police Department.

Residential Burglary- 6500Block of Knott Ave.:
At 1336 hours, an unknown suspect attempted to break into a residence but was scared away by the owner’s dog.

Shoplifting- Luckys, 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1048 hours, officers were dispatched to the business on the report of a theft in progress. The suspect fled before officers arrived but was identified as a 22-year-old man with whom the officers know from prior contacts.

Warrant Arrest- 10944 San Pablo Ave.:
At 1537 hours, officers arrested a 19-year-old Richmond man on an outstanding arrest warrant. The man was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Vehicle Theft- Knott Ave./Key Blvd.:
An unknown suspect stole a Honda Civic between 1000 and 1550 hours on the 23rd.

Residential Burglary- 200 Block of Liberty St.:
At 2026 hours, officers were sent to a residence to investigate a burglary which occurred earlier in the day. Officers determined an unknown suspect forced entry into the residence between 1400 and 1800 hours. The suspect stole jewelry, the victim’s wallet, and currency.

Drunk-in-Public- 900 Block of Kearney St.
At 0205 hours, officers were dispatched to the above-listed location on the report of a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 38-year-old male from SF who was heavily intoxicated.

April 24th:

Warrant Arrest- 1900 Block of Key Blvd:
At 0758 hours, an officer spotted a 48-year-male in front of his residence and knew the male was wanted on a no-bail Contra Costa County warrant. He was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest/ Possession of Brass Knuckles – Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1247 hours, officers responded to the business for a male that had just stolen. Officers located the male at the Del Norte BART station. The 55-year-old male from San Francisco was still in possession of the stolen property and positively identified as the suspect during an infield show-up. He was also found to be in possession of a crack pipe and metal knuckles during a search incident to arrest. He was arrested and transported to the ECPD where a records check revealed two outstanding Contra Costa County warrants for his arrest. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Tampering with a Vehicle– Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 1247 hours, an officer was flagged down by security about a possible auto burglary which just occurred. The security officer found the suspect in the security officer’s unlocked personal vehicle. An officer detained a 44-year-old male from Antioch near Potrero Ave and Eastshore Blvd. He was positively identified as the suspect and placed under citizen arrest. A records check revealed the man was on probation for theft. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Auto Burglary – Starbucks, 3090 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1935 hours, an officer responded to a report of an auto burglary at the El Cerrito Plaza. The victim reported seeing the suspect stealing his laptop bag from the shattered rear right window of his Ford Escape.

Drunk in Public, Parole Violation, Mutual Combat, Blue Moon Saloon, 9937 San Pablo Ave:
At 2350 hours, ECPD officers were dispatched to a fight call involving six people in the parking lot. Officers arrived and found only two subjects, both with minor injuries. One of the subjects was a 27-year-old man from Oakland who was on parole and admitted to striking the victim several times. Both parties were extremely intoxicated and equally at fault for the altercation. The subject on parole was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for violating the terms of his early release.

April 25th:

Auto Burglary – 1000 Block of Havens Place:
An officer reported between 4/23/18 at 2030 hours and 4/24/18 at 0715 hours, a female suspect forced entry into the victim’s black Honda Accord and stole several items.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 900 Block of King Drive:
At 1000 hours, an officer recovered a grey 1995 Honda Civic which was reported stolen to the San Pablo PD on 4/23/18.

Residential Burglary – 1300 Block of Norvell St:
An officer reported between 4/24/18 at 1730 and 4/25/18 at 0730 hours, an unknown suspect forced entry into the garage and stole power tools.

Brandishing a Weapon – 11700 blocks of San Pablo Ave. :
At 1528 hours, an officer responded to the apartment complex and arrested the 19-year-old resident of El Cerrito who threatened to harm his father. The male was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery- Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 1855 hours, ECPD officers responded to Safeway on the report of a strong-arm robbery. An officer reviewed the video surveillance at Safeway and obtained a description of the suspect. Approximately 30 minutes later, the officer located a 21-year-old transient male, who matched the description at San Pablo Ave. at Macdonald Ave. The male was found in possession of the two cans of alcohol and was positively identified as a suspect. He was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

April 26th:

Commercial Burglary- 10860 San Pablo Ave. :
An officer reports an unknown suspect broke the padlock to gain entry into the construction site and stole tools. The theft occurred between 0036-0336 hours.

Commercial Burglary- 11860 San Pablo Ave. :
An officer reported the suspect cut a plastic portion of the skylight to gain entry into the business. Once inside of the business the suspect stole an iPad and a small amount of cash.

Petty Theft –Ross, 2000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1441 hours, an officer responded to the location for a report of theft. Once on scene, officers learned an unknown suspect stole the victim’s rental bicycle.

Residential Burglary- 6900 Block of Gladys Ave:
At 1419 hours, an officer responded to a residential burglary which occurred during the day. The officer determined that an unknown suspect shattered the rear sliding glass door and stole $850.00 worth of silverware. The burglary happened between 4/20 @ 1000 hours and 4/26 @ 1330 hours.

April 27th

Shoplifting- Walgreens, 11565 San Pablo Ave.
At 0839 hours, officers responded to the business on the report of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 48-year-old Richmond woman who was identified by store personnel. The female was placed under citizen’s arrest, booked at the ECPD, and then released with a citation.

Warrant- Carlson Blvd./Avila Pl.:
At 1210 hours, an officer arrested a 36-year-old female on an outstanding warrant. The female was booked at the ECPD and then transported the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting- CVS, 10650 San Pablo Ave.:
At 1219 hours, officers were dispatched to CVS on the report of a female stealing from the business. Officers arrived on scene and arrested a 29-year-old female from San Pablo after being identified by store clerks. The female was released in the field with a citation.

Shoplifting- CVS, 10650 San Pablo Ave.:
At 1227 hours, officers were dispatched to CVS for a theft which just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and arrested a 19-year-old Richmond man for the theft. After being identified by store personnel, the suspect was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Failure to Obey Officer, Key Blvd./ Humboldt St.:
At 1922 hours, an officer attempted to conduct a suspicious person contact, but the suspect walked away. Officers arrested a 25-year-old Richmond man for delaying/obstructing the investigation of an officer. The suspect was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

April 28th

Arson- All Star Donuts, 3070 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 1019 hours, officers were dispatched to the business on the report of a fire in the restroom. During the investigation, officers arrested a 21-year-old female from Lafayette for arson. The female was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Vehicle Theft- Cutting Blvd./Key Blvd.:
An officer reports the victim’s Subaru was stolen on the 23rd between 1500 and 1800 hours.

Shoplifting-Marshalls, 10794 San Pablo Ave.:
At 1648 hours, officers were dispatched to the store on the report of a male in-custody for theft. Officers arrived on scene and accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 19-year-old Richmond man for theft. The man was booked at the ECPD and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

April 29th

Possession of a Controlled Substance, 400 Block of Kearney St.:
At 0121 hours, officers arrested a 43-year-old transient for being in possession of methamphetamine. The man was booked at the ECPD and released with a citation.

April 30th

Burglary- 510 El Cerrito Plaza:
An officer reports that an unknown suspect gained entry into a bicycle shed on the 21st and stole a bicycle.

Warrant- Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave.:
At 1512 hours, an officer arrested a 24-year-old female on an outstanding warrant during a disturbance call. The female was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the MDF.

Warrant- 5200 Block of Potrero Ave.:
At 1913 hours, officers arrested a 47-year-old El Cerrito man on an outstanding warrant. The man was transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Robbery- 2000 Block of Key Blvd.:
At 2103 hours, the victim was approached by three juveniles who threatened to harm the victim if he did not relinquish his property. The victim handed over his property and the juveniles fled the area.
