Police Investigate Fatal Crash from Monday night.

A fatal crash caused the closure of the intersection at Route 535 and Route 32 for five hours Monday night. South Brunswick Police responded to the intersection of Route 535 and Route 32 at 6:49pm for a multi-vehicle crash.  Preliminary investigation indicates Ming Xiong, 60 year old female from Plainsboro, was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla and was stopped at a red traffic signal on Route 32 West at the intersection of Route 535.  Michael Gil, 41 year old male from South River, was driving a 2002 Mini Cooper on Route 32 West and was approaching the intersection of Route 535 when his vehicle struck the rear of Ms. Xiong’s vehicle.   As a result of the crash Ms. Xiong subsequently succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  Three additional vehicles were also involved in the crash investigation, which occurred after the initial impact to Ms. Xiong’s vehicle.   
 
South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka would like to thank the Cranbury Police Department, Monroe Police Department, New Jersey State Police, Monmouth Junction Fire Department, Cranbury Fire Department, Monmouth Junction EMS, Plainsboro EMS, and Monroe EMS for their assistance at the scene.
