INCIDENT: Motor Vehicle Collision Incident 2018-11116
DATE & TIME OCCURRED: 5/1/2018 at 0857 Hours
LOCATION OCCURRED: U.S. Route 1 near Buffalo Wild Wings

Driver #1: Cruz Lazo-Jimenez 37 year old

OFFICER: Ptl. B. Caulfield #5107
DETAILS: Patrol Officers and West Windsor Fire & Emergency Services responded to US Route 1 (North and South) on a Motor Vehicle Collision where the following occurred: a 2004 Ford F Series pulling a Sure-Trac Trailer was traveling South on US Route 1. There were approximately thirty 50 lb. bags of QuikCrete cement on the trailer. The trailer began to sway from the weight and the Ford went out of control. Driver #1, Cruz Lazo-Jimenez began to brake which caused the trailer to crash into the center median of US Route 1. Vehicle #2 was traveling North on US Route 1 in the left lane. Approx. (15) bags of concrete propelled over the barrier after the trailer collided with it. Some bags impacted Vehicle #2 causing its windshield to break and heavy damage to the roof. Driver #2 sustained lacerations to her arms and was transported to Penn Medicine at Princeton Health for treatment by WW Fire & Emergency Services. US Route 1 North had (2) lanes closed for approximately (45) minutes due to this incident and subsequent cleanup. Lazo-Jimenez was issues summonses for an Unsafe Load and Careless Driving by Ptl. Caulfield, the investigating Officer.
