Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 4/26/18 at 1:13pm his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on Almaugus Dr near Lilac Dr in Howard Township, Cass County Michigan. 68 year old, Niles resident, William Havener Jr was traveling westbound on Almausgus Dr on his motorcycle. 74 yr old, Niles resident, Robert Elsworth Shoemaker, was facing eastbound when Shoemanker attempted to turn in to a private drive crashing in to Havener throwing him from the bike. Havener were taken by ambulance to Lakeland Niles Hospital in Niles, Michigan for treatment. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and seat belts and helmets were used.
