The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
April 25th
0826 Hours: Officer Losier contacted and arrested a 38-year-old transient male for possession of a controlled substance on the 37700 block of Manzanita Street. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
0912 Hours: Officer Fredstrom contacted and arrested a 52year old transient female for her outstanding warrants on St. Isabel Avenue. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.
1314 Hours: Officer Rivas contacted and arrested a 38-year-old Newark male for probation violation on the 36200 block of Ruschin Drive. The suspect was booked into the Santa Rita Jail.
1519 Hours: Officer Losier investigated a grab and run theft at Home Depot, 5401 Thornton Avenue. The loss is miscellaneous power tools.
1929 Hours: Officer Hunter investigated an auto burglary at the Aloft Hotel, 8200 Gateway Boulevard. The loss was a backpack that was recovered on Edgewater Drive.
