Fairfield Resident Arrested In Connection With Burglary and Credit Card Theft At A Local Business

On April 2, 2018, the Fairfield Police Department was made aware of a fraudulent credit card purchase that was made at a business in the 1500 block of Gateway Bl in February 2018.  The patrol officer who initiated the investigation was able to determine that there was information about a potential suspect in this incident.  The investigation was picked up by detectives in our Investigations Bureau.  Detectives reviewed all of the evidence available, including store surveillance videos, and were able to identify the subject who purchased over $950 worth of merchandise using a fraudulent credit card.

This morning, Investigations Bureau detectives served a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Second St and arrested Ronnie Kaufman, a 39-year old Fairfield resident.  Kaufman was identified by store employees as the subject who had made the fraudulent purchase.  He was later booked into Solano County Jail for burglary and credit card theft.

The Fairfield Police Department works closely with retailers throughout our community.  It is through these relationships that we are able to identify those people who seek to victimize not only our retail businesses but by extension, our residents and those who choose to shop in our city.
