SMPD Arrest Man Caught Masturbating in High School Parking Lot 
On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at around 5 p.m., San Mateo Police Department received a call from a concerned parent that saw a man masturbating in his vehicle while parked at Hillsdale High School. Officers located the man seated in his vehicle in the parking lot. The man was identified as 60-year-old Benito Chico Diaz. The concerned parent confirmed that Diaz was the man that was masturbating in his vehicle. Diaz was arrested for engaging in a lewd act while in public (647(a)PC) and transported to San Mateo County Jail.
We wanted to take a moment to thank the observant parent that called SMPD and reported the incident. This is a good example of the partnership we have with our community to help identify and investigate illegal activity. As we always say, “if you see something say something” and “you are our eyes and ears.”
