Hockley County Sheriff's Office calls for service and activities for Monday, 4/23/18, and Tuesday, 4/24/18.

Good Wednesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Monday, 4/23/18, and Tuesday, 4/24/18.

4/23/18

-100 blk Leon Rd, Smyer: Civil Issue. A deputy met with a property owner related to a trailer parked on his property. The owner was advised of his civil remedies related to the matter. No criminal offenses were reported.

-US 62/82 at Quail Rd, Ropesville: Warrant Arrest. A deputy stopped to check on a vehicle stopped along the roadway. One of the individuals had an active warrant from Terry County. The individual was placed under arrest for the warrant and transported the jail.

-1100 blk Avenue S, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the area. Parties advised the incident was verbal and no offense was reported. Parties were separated prior to deputies leaving the residence. Information was collected to document the incident.

-4000 blk Hawk, Ropesville: Assist EMS. A deputy was dispatched to assist at a residence related to a medical issue. One individual was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

-Hwy 385 at 2nd St, Whitharral: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a disturbance in the area. An individual was removed from the area and released to another individual. No offense was reported, and information was collected to document the incident.

4/24/18

-FM 41 at Quail Rd, Ropesville: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a vehicle parked in an intersection that was unattended. The vehicle caused a roadway obstruction and was towed from the area. Attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Criminal Trespass. A deputy contacted an individual related to a criminal trespass issue. The statute was explained, as well as potential punishments for violations.

-100 blk Mandy Circle, Opdyke West: Criminal Trespass. A deputy responded to serve a criminal trespass warning to an individual. The person was contacted and the warning was served in writing.

-6800 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported disturbance at a residence. All parties were contacted and advised the issue was verbal only. No offenses were reported. Information was collected to document the incident.

Deputies conducted close patrols/vacation watches, investigative follow-up activities, civil process service, and patrols in all areas of the county.

Jail population as of 4/25/18 at 0800 hours: 51 in Hockley County, 5 to be processed, 34 out of county.
