6 Car Collision on Lakeville Highway results in death of 67 year old woman.

Incident: 6 Car Collision on Lakeville Highway results in death of 67 year old woman.

Incident Summary:
On 4/24/18 at 7:15am Petaluma Police Dispatch received numerous 911 calls regarding a multiple vehicle traffic collision on Lakeville Hwy. near South McDowell Extension. 6 vehicles total were involved in the collision, 3 sustaining major damage and 3 minor damage. The 3 vehicles sustaining major damage were a Chevrolet Silverado, Toyota Prius and a Honda Accord.
Apparently the driver of the Silverado was traveling westbound toward Petaluma on Lakeville Hwy. when for unknown reasons crossed over solid double yellow lines into oncoming eastbound traffic. The Silverado collided with the Prius head on and also collided with the Honda Accord. The driver of the Prius identified as a 67 year old female was pronounced deceased at the scene by Petaluma Fire Department Paramedics.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was identified as a 19 year old male and the passenger was identified as a 50 year old male. Both were taken to a local hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda Accord was identified as a 22 year old male and he was also transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
This traffic collision is under investigation by the Petaluma Police Departments Traffic Unit. If anyone witnessed this collision and has not already spoke with a member of the Petaluma Police Department they are asked to contact Officer Mario Giomi at 707-776-3722.
