INCIDENT: Structure Fire

OFFICERS INVOLVED: Lt Matt Sharin, Sgt Brian Egan, Ptl Joe Ammaturo, Ptl Jon Losquadro, Ptl Brad Kerney, Ptl Chris Mirrione

NARRATIVE:

On April 21, 2018 at approximately 2:45pm the Deal Police Department received a report of a possible structure fire at 111 Monmouth Drive in the Borough of Deal. Sgt Brian Egan and Ptl Chris Mirrione were first on scene and reported a working structure fire at that location. Witnesses on scene reported a subject was still inside the residence. Sgt Brian Egan, Ptl Chris Mirrione and Firefighter Joe Hagerman entered the residence and located a worker on the second floor attempting to extinguish the fire. They were able to safely remove that subject without injury.

The Deal Fire Department arrived on scene a short time later and began fire suppression operations. The Deal Fire Department, along with mutual aid from Long Branch, Asbury Park, and Tinton Falls Fire Departments were able to extinguish the fire without incident. The Deal and Elberon First Aid Squads also responded to the scene to assist. No injuries were reported during this incident. Ptl Jon Losquadro of the Deal Police Department and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
