On April 20, 2018, members of the Simi Valley Police Department conducted a City-Wide Probation sweep at 19 locations resulting in the arrest of 5 individuals. Jonathan Ponce, 20 yrs, Simi Valley, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Leonard Delarosa, 20 yrs., Simi Valley, was arrested for a local outstanding arrest warrant. Dolan McKinley, 19 yrs., Simi Valley, was arrested for two local outstanding arrest warrants and a fresh charge of providing a false name/information to a Police Officer. Ryan Harband, 31 yrs., Northridge, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sale. Rebekka Johnson, 29 yrs., Simi Valley, was arrested for violation of her Probation Terms, as well as for being in possession of a controlled substance.
The purpose of the Probation sweep was to ensure that these individuals were in compliance with the terms of their Probation, and to hopefully deter future crimes being committed by these individuals. Some of the locations were specifically contacted due to "quality of life issues" being caused by these individuals in their respective neighborhoods, such as narcotic sales/usage, physical fights and altercations which generated previous complaints.
The subjects arrested were subsequently transported to the Ventura County Main Jail and booked on their individual charges.
