Flood Warning until 02:55PM Saturday

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in South Dakota...Iowa...and Minnesota... James River Near Forestburg James River At Mitchell James River Near Scotland James River Above Yankton Firesteel Creek Near Mount Vernon Vermillion River Near Davis Vermillion River Near Wakonda Big Sioux River Near Brookings Big Sioux River Near Dell Rapids Big Sioux River At Sioux Falls I-90 Big Sioux River above Hawarden Big Sioux River At Akron Rock River At Rock Rapids Ocheyedan River Near Spencer Little Sioux River At Spencer Little Sioux River At Linn Grove Little Sioux River At Cherokee Redwood River Near Marshall .The following river forecasts include forecast precipitation through tonight. Any additional future rains could affect the crest forecasts. As the snow pack from recent storms continues melting today and into this weekend with mild temperatures, the runoff will cause significant rises on the area rivers and streams. Some of this melting is occurring a little faster than previously forecast, so the rises have been adjusted to happen faster and higher. Most flooding will only be in the minor category, but a few may reach moderate. ...Flood Warning extended until further notice... The Flood Warning continues for The Big Sioux River above Hawarden.

* From Saturday afternoon until further notice.

* At 9 AM Friday the stage was 19.8 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 20.5 feet.

* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by Saturday April 21 and continue to rise to near 23.2 feet by Tuesday April 24. Additional rises are possible thereafter.

* At stages near 23.0 feet...South Dakota Highway 46 begins to flood. &&

* AFFECTED AREAS: PLYMOUTH ... SIOUX
