Sheriff Richard Behnke reports that his Deputies responded to a hiker that had become lost in the trails at TK Lawless Park, 14932 Monkey Run, in Vandalia, Newberg Twp., Cass County, Michigan on 04/19/18 at 1219 Hrs.

Cass County Dispatch was in phone contact with the lost female for approx. 15 minutes, trying to direct her out of the trails. When that failed they directed her to stop where she was until help arrived.

Sheriff Deputies and the Pokagon Tribal Police responded to the call. K9 Nellie trailed Deputies to the female’s location. The female and her young dog were located, unharmed, just off the main trail areas in the woods at Lawless Park.
