The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.

April 17th

0909 Hours: Officer Cervantes investigated a restraining order violation on the 37000 block of Magnolia Street. The suspect had left the area prior to the Officers arrival. The investigation is ongoing.

0917 Hours: Officer Rivas investigated a mutual battery amongst two neighbors on the 6000 block of Joaquin Murieta Avenue. No arrests were made in relation to the investigation.

1054 Hours: Officer Damewood investigated an attempted commercial burglary on the 7700 block of Enterprise Drive.

1149 Hours: Officer Losier contacted and arrested a 48-year-old Oakland male for possession of a controlled substance on the 5800 block of Jarvis Avenue. The suspect was issued a citation and released. Officer Losier also arrested a 48-year-old Oakland Female for her outstanding warrant. The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

1154 Hours: Officer San Pedro investigated a hit and run collision on the 36300 block of Bridgepointe Drive.

1600 Hours: Officer R. Johnson investigated a non-injury traffic collision that occurred in the parking lot of 24 Hour Fitness, 1001 Newpark Mall.

1712 Hours: Officer Cervantes responded to the bus stop situated at Sears, 100 Newpark Mall on the report of a disorderly passenger. The passenger, a 58-year-old Fremont male was arrested for violation of a court order and subsequently booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

1814 Hours: Officers responded to a minor injury hit and run accident on the 6200 block of Lafayette Avenue. The injured driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

1917 Hours: Officer Norvell investigated the theft of a black 2001 BMW 330 (CA license #6YVF938) on the 7400 block of Central Avenue.
