Residents Urged to Monitor Water Levels

The National Weather Service’s Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service reports that the level of the Raritan River at Bound Brook is currently at 23.19 feet. The river is expected to crest at about 26.40 feet around 8:00pm tonight. Flood stage is 28.00 feet.
Residents are urged to monitor water levels. We have already experienced minor flooding resulting in the following road closures:
River Road between Baekeland Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard
Cedar Avenue/Possumtown Road between Lincoln Boulevard and Birch Run Drive (Piscataway)
Shepherd Avenue between Beechwood Avenue and Thomae Avenue (Bridgewater)
South Lincoln Avenue between Voorhees Avenue and Cap Lane
Remember:
• Turn Around, Don’t Drown!
• Avoid walking or driving through flood waters.
• Just 6 inches of moving water can knock you down, and one foot of moving water can sweep your vehicle away.
