The Athens area is experiencing high winds and areas of flooding. There are many reports of trees being uprooted and tree limbs being blown down.
ACCPD is recommending that all citizens exercise caution in their travels. Please attempt to stay indoors as much as possible. If you are outdoors, be aware of the potential for falling limbs and blowing debris.
There are also traffic lights out throughout Athens-Clarke County. Until traffic lights are restored, motorists are advised to slow down and treat affected intersections as a four way stop.
