Suspicious person contact leads to arrest of convicted felon in possession of a loaded and stolen firearm

On April 13th, 2018 at 4:10am while officers were finishing a traffic stop in the area of N. Texas Street and Acacia Street, the officers noticed a male that was illegally riding his bicycle on the sidewalk, without a headlamp, both of which are violations of California law.  The officers noticed that it appeared the subject was attempting to avoid someone as they could see that while riding his bicycle he kept looking over his shoulder and peddling very quickly.

When the officers attempted to stop the subject he fled from them on his bicycle.  While fleeing to the rear of a business in the 1900 block of N. Texas Street, the subject attempted to conceal himself behind a vehicle in the parking lot of the closed business, however, the subject was located and taken into custody by officers.  Next to the subject, under the car he was attempting to conceal himself near, officers located a loaded handgun which was previously reported stolen from the City of Stockton.  The subject was identified as Raul Angulo a 31 year old Fairfield resident.  Angulo was booked into Solano County Jail on numerous charges.
