Sex Offender Community Notification - Boulevard

This is the San Diego County Sheriff's Department with a safety message on Friday, April 13th.

If you live in the Boulevard or Jacumba Hot Springs areas, be aware that a sex offender will soon be living in your community.

MICHAEL MARTINEZ is a Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) who will be living at 2135 McCain Valley Road in Boulevard. This address falls under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's Deputies and members of the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Task Force went door to door on Thursday, April 12th to notify the community about Martinez's placement.

Martinez was convicted of sexual offenses between 1978 and 2004. The victims were primarily female children and one male child. Martinez served several years in state prison for his crimes. He is scheduled to be released from Coalinga State Hospital any time prior to April 30, 2018 and has a lifetime requirement to register as a sex offender.

The Sheriff's Department and the Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Task Force are not responsible for the selection of Martinez's residence.

Martinez is not wanted by the Sheriff's Department at this time.

California Penal Code Section 290, also known as “Megan’s Law,” permits law enforcement agencies to warn the community about sex offenders who frequent the area. The purpose of this notice is to allow members of the public to protect themselves and/or their children from sex offenders.

This notification is not intended to induce fear; rather it is our belief that an informed community is a safer community. Use of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass the subject or any other person will not be tolerated and may result in prosecution.

The SAFE Task Force is composed of participating and member agencies in the County of San Diego including state, local and federal agencies. They all believe that an informed community is a safe community. For more information about SAFE, visit http://sdsafe.org. For more information on Megan's Law, visit https://www.meganslaw.ca.gov.
