Move over!
Over the next few weeks, members of our Department will be conducting proactive operations aimed at educating and enforcing the State's "Move Over Law". This law was put in place to protect roadside responders, such as Fire, EMS, Police, and Tow Operators. To break it down, any time there is a emergency vehicle or tow truck on the shoulder, with lights flashing, drivers are expected to MOVE OVER to allow a safe area for the responders. If traffic prohibits you from moving over, drivers should slow down until the vehicles have been safely passed. Thank you!
