The following part 1 crimes were reported this week.   
4/2/18
Theft- 31000 block of Castaic Road.         
Deputies’ patrolling the area stopped a male subject to investigate a trespassing report.  While conducting their investigation it was discovered the man had stolen several items from the local gas station.  The suspect was identified by the store employee.       
4/7/18
Theft- 31000 block of Castaic Road.       
A petty theft was reported from the local laundry matt.  Several items of clothing were reported stolen by a patron.  Deputies’ patrolling the area found a female matching the description of the suspect.  The owner identified clothing the suspect was wearing as the one of the items stolen.  The suspect was also in possession of the other stolen items.         
   
 
Remember, in any community, the citizens are the first set of eyes and ears for 1^st responders.  It is the community who knows what “does” and “doesn’t” look right.  It is you, the local citizens, who can tell who “does” and “doesn’t” belong in the area.  If you see any suspicious activity, something that doesn’t look “right”, please call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
Please be aware that many of the thefts we have seen in the past have been “Crimes of Opportunity”.  Never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors.  Minimize your risk of becoming a victim.
