Residents in the neighborhood of Sandford Street between Commercial Avenue and Remsen Avenue may be experiencing water service disruption or discoloration due to a main break on Sandford Street near Remsen Avenue.

To accommodate repairs, Sandford Street is currently closed between Remsen Avenue and Renaissance Lane. Please follow detours or officer instructions if traveling in the area.

Water discoloration is caused by the dislodging of iron deposits in water mains.

Water remains safe for use, but residents are advised to avoid doing laundry and limit hot water usage until discoloration disappears, as iron deposits may sometimes build up in hot water heaters and possibly stain laundry.
