On April 11, 2018, at 12:05 a.m. Deputy Ben Kiesel conducted a traffic stop on US 41 near County Road 1025 South on a Red 2017 Jeep for speeding. Upon approaching the vehicle Deputy Kiesel detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver 28 year old Eddie Spalding of Indianapolis. At that point Deputy Kiesel began a roadside DUI investigation that resulted in Mr. Spalding being taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Spalding was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (DUI). He remains in custody on a $650 bond.

Assisting Deputy Kiesel in his investigation was Conservation Officer Matt Clark.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
