On April 10, 2018, at 2:16 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a disturbance in the 100 block of North Madison Street in Oakland City. Upon arriving Deputy U.B. Smith began an investigation into the report with the assistance of Sgt. Fischer of the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office and Officer Don Carlisle of the Oakland City Police Department. At the conclusion of his investigation 20 year old Dakota Dent of Oakland City was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the jail Mr. Dent was charged with Battery and Minor Consumption. He remains in custody without a bail.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
